Title: Operations & Development Intern

Hours: 2 days/week, starting ASAP through end of August 2024

Pay: £2,000 stipend

This role will join our team to prevent and disrupt human trafficking. The internship will sit in our Operations and Development Team who is focussed on how we grow and scale our impact as an organisation. The Operations and Develoment Team works on finding funding through grants, donations, events, and other creative avenues. They also manage the organisation’s finances including regular reports to senior leadership.

This intern will report to our Fundraising Manager and support with stakeholder communications, simple data analysis tasks, researching potential opportunities, and helping maintain and improve organisational funding/finance systems.

This internship is an exciting opportunity to work for a global human rights charity and directly work with every single team in the organisation from data, intelligence, and communications as an Operations member.

The successful person will be a strong generalist, solution-oriented, positive, and excited to problem solve. They will leave the internship with strong experience to take forward into future work positions.


  • Researching potential funding opportunities to develop a consistent pipeline of relevant opportunities
  • Supporting other fundraising initiatives through communications, including drives for donated income and individual donor relations, where applicable
  • Maintaining and strengthening relationships with funders and donors
  • Supporting with maintenance internal operating systems including financial processes and controls (i.e., reviewing all current subscriptions and determining if all spend is necessary)
  • Supporting to create internal reports for leadership

Person Specification:

  • Relevant transferrable skills, no degree required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of tailoring language to different audiences
  • Capable of producing high quality research
  • Acumen for numbers and statistics (decent Excel skills)
  • Understanding of how social media and digital media platforms operate
  • Skills or interest in creating social media or communications assets (Canva design)
  • Excellent time management
  • Interest and passion for fighting modern slavery
